How do I sell a car?

I haven't a bloody clue, regarding either the paper work or the best way to do it.

Is part exchanging the easiest way or does it mean losing a lot of £££?

Private sales are the most hassle but also likely to give you the best price.
It is hassle free to part exchange your car if you are buying another car from a garage but find out before you go what your old cat is worth.
I have sold a car to we buy any car which is also no hassle but did give us a bit less money than a trade in would have. I wasn't buying another car so couldn't do that that time round.

Sold ours through webuyanycar.

You can get more selling privately - but we needed to get rid of it quickly. It saved us having to pay a new chunk of road tax. Price was similar to trade in value but husband was getting a company car so we did not need a trade in.

It meant not having to have people come round to view it - and no issues with taking cash (which could have been fake) or bank transfers from strangers.

Depends how much it's worth.
