How does everyone rate the Bugaboo chameleon and the mountain buggy urban?

Love the bug but its annoying to dismantle. Dd is 18 months and dd2 due in sept. So both are good for the buggy board i know the urban is larger seat and easier to dismantle just wondered what people thought?

i love them both.

BUT if i had to make a choice, its the MB urban.

hippipotami · 17/06/2007 12:18

Well, if I were to have another baby those would both be at the top of the wishlist. But the bug would win for me because the handle bar extends. Being over 6ft I need all the handlebar I can get!!

misdee · 17/06/2007 13:07

urban has adjustable handlebar, my 7yr old can push it with ease.

but i would have to get a carrycot for it if i ever had another, so the bug wins there as complete package.

CarGirl · 17/06/2007 13:10

I would rate the bug higher for being able to be rear facing

I would rate the MB higher if you have to take it in and out of the car a lot, or if you have huge children

Very tricky to call.........

Do you reckon that i'd be ok with the bug with newborn and 22month old

i think you may need a double at times.

CarGirl · 17/06/2007 13:21

22 months is a little young not to have a double I'd say at least 2.5 years, plus in the winter you need them undercover if you walk a lot or they get wet

It is easier/afer/nicer to have both physically contsrained at times!

holsnovell · 17/06/2007 13:25

Thanks that helps

I have both the frog and an mb urban
Whilst bug is annoying to dismantle, urban is very heavy & awkward to lift even tho it takes seconds to put it up and down again. Same weight as bug, but all in one package. I would choose it over the frog tho (and have, just sold my frog). The larger seat on the urban is fab, my 3.6 ds1 in it today and v.comfy, but he won't fit into the frog at all and he's not tall or big. I find ds2 (6 months) can sleep really well in the mb cos there's room to stretch out, he seems squashed in the frog. Course the cameleon might be bigger?

I found a buggy board on the mb really really irritating for anything longer than up the street, I wouldn't do it for longer trips in fact we're selling ours as ds1 sits on the front of the urban anyway.
All in all if were me and that age gap, I'd get a phil n teds instead!

Sounds like a good plan holsnovell.

Misdee - I doubt your 7 year old dd is 6ft tall though?

HandyTrinkett · 18/06/2007 12:36

Chameleon rocks.. ..we use it 'off road' quite a bit and it's not come a cropper so far.. ...nice and easy around the streets as well.

holsnovell · 18/06/2007 14:35

Good plan but sad to see the bug go
