What is the gentlest shampoo and conditioner you can get? My hair looks crappy.

My hair appears to be having a nervous break-down atm and seems to be over-reacting to everything I use.

It's started being oily at the roots (god knows why - I'm hardly a teenager) and all lifeless at the ends.

It's shortish. I've just had it cut again - I'm not too pleased with it, but I guess it'll grow back.

I think part of the problem with not being too pleased with the cut is the condition it seems to be in. It also looks dull and limp. It's not coloured and I don't regularly use straighteners etc.

Whatever I use doesn't seem to make any difference. I've just spent £12 on some special shampoo by Kerastase for this type of thing, but it looks no better.

Help!

baby shampoo is probably the mildest.

Whatever happened to Timotei? That was pretty mild.

No - I've heard that baby shampoo can be very harsh. I'd give the Kerastase a week or so to see what happens, and then maybe investigate something like Aveda - they have lovely shampoos. Do you use conditioner? Might help.

I seem to remember reading something years ago about baby shampoo not being good for some reason.

I do use conditioner - the hairdresser said I'd been using things that were too heavy and that they were making my hair oily.

I've tried usung it just at the ends, but that's not working either. Aaargh! I've not had this happen before - my hair is in revolt...or should that be revolting?

Have you seen Lush products before?
They have shops and mail order.
I also use my local Salon Services shop. The staff there are really good about recommending products, and they're cheaper than buying from a salon

I have never found anything better than redken shampoos
