Renault Kudjar?

We put a deposit down on a 2016 Diesel Renault Kudjar today and just wondered if anyone else had one or experience of one?

We originally were going to buy a Dacia Duster but they didn't have any in stock and probably won't for 4-6 months and this was around the same price!

Bumping for the Sunday afternoon crowd! Any thoughts?

Curious - why that car and what else was on your car-criteria list?

Being French would be enough for me to not want to touch one, even with a shitty stick.

Interesting! I’ve got a Dacia Sandero Stepway but we need a 2nd bigger car as it’s not really suitable for when we go camping etc! As I originally posted, we had wanted a Dacia duster but there isn’t any available for the next 4-6 months! Renault is the same make as Dacia and shares the showroom so we looked at the Renault Kadjar and really liked it. We also looked at the Nissan Qashqai but that felt cheap and smaller in comparison

Autotrader has LOTS of Dusters available. Took me all of 7 seconds to find them.

QashShits are shit too. Nasty and cheap. Have you looked at/considered other 4x4 vehicles?

Lots of farts on this thread 😂

My dad has this and is really pleased with it. Looks smart and loads of extra ragadgets inside. Fast enough, no problems what so ever. He traded his duster in for it, and definitely more premium than that was

Dh has had a Kadjar since 2016. He really likes it. Lots of space, he never complains about how it drives and we've had no problems.

Previously ww had a Fiat 500L until it was spectacularly written off in a side on collision. The car was pretty much cryshed one one side but dh got out witha couple of bruises. I think dh often wonders why he didnt get another so maybe worth a consideration?

JosellaPlayton · 22/10/2018 04:55

Rented one in France and hated it. It was horrible to drive. But then I’d never consider buying either a diesel or a French car. By comparison I’ve also rented a 500L and it was a brilliant, one got DH and I safely out of a freak snowstorm in the south of France a couple of years back. If you hadn’t already put a deposit down then it would have been worth considering. And shame about the Duster, I’ve borrowed one from a relative before and was pleasantly surprised, I definitely preferred it to the Renault. I’m surprised you couldn’t find one. But if you test drove the Renault and liked it then that’s surely all that matters? Sounds like it’s possibly too late to change your mind anyway!

As @fartinginthefence said, French and diesel is a huge no-no for me. A mechanic friend recently told me that Nissan collaborates with Renault now, which has caused the quality of Nissans to drop (rather than Renaults improve to Japanese standards).

Have you looked at the Mazda CX-5 or the Seat Ateca?

If you don’t do lots of miles, seriously consider petrol.

FartingInTheFence · 22/10/2018 05:39

Nissan is part owned by Renault I believe hence they share the same parts dustbin(s).

If budget is an issue, you cant go wrong with something like a used Suzuki Grand Vitara, RAV4, CRV etc. Lots of choices.
