Non leak water bottle for 5 year old?! ANYONE?

So sick of him coming back with a soggy book bag...!! I’ve spent a small fortune on these bottles in the past; Camelbak, Sistema etc.. they all leak in time yet claim to be leak-proof!! It annoys me that they can get away with making these false claims.
I need one that’s easy to use and can go sideways in a book bag.
THANK YOU

They don't exist!! 😬😬😬😬

Sorry, unhelpful.

Ha ha, I think you may be right! I’ve literally spent years trying to find one. 🤬

Some of those aluminium bottles look quite good! But blimmin expensive. Good investment if you can trust your little one not to lose it.

My 3 are terrible for losing things so I wouldn't splash out?

We use the sistema twist top, had no problems.

Our school bans water bottles in book bags for that reason though

Not sure that link went anywhere!

We have found the tyrell katz ones really good, no leaks so far since start of term.

SoyDora · 12/10/2018 09:26

Yeah, bottles aren’t allowed in book bags at our school either, they had too many ruined school books from leaking bottles! DD just has to carry hers separately.
We have an aluminium thermos one that doesn’t seem to leak, however.

DunesOfSand · 12/10/2018 09:37

Sideways is the problem. Can you find a way to keep it upright in the bag?

Our polar bottles are quite good (I bought loads in a closing sale, but think they are expensive in the uk), but still only as good as Mummy putting the lid on properly, or kids closing the spout properly!

I was going to suggest the Camelbak Eddy which we've had no issues with but noticed you e got it in your list of leakers.

Try a Chilly's screw top aluminium one instead then?

I gave up looking for non leak bottles and use these so they don't go leaking over everything in the school bag. Best non leak ones I've actually found are the school issue ones (especially since our school then sell replacement lids which are the bits that fail/get chewed on ours).

I like those bottle buddis a lot! One less thing for him to carry. This morning I left him at the gates carrying his fleece, his scooter, his book bag and then his bottle, which was leaking despite being bloody upright. FFS.

Given the bottle search seems fruitless, this could be the answer to free up his little hands. Thanks X

Mine doesn't leak, stainless steel by Lifeventure from Amazon a few years ago.

Aluminium ones all the way. We have both styles linked by other posters and neither type leak. My personal preference is the style granny linked to. They are double walled so keep the water cooler for longer as well. They are more expensive but my 3 have been using theirs for over a year now and they are still gong and not dented or damaged like I thought they might’ve be.
