Whats wrong with mfi kitchens???? If anybody has even a little bit of budget they prefer not to go to mfi, why is that??? I wonder if any one can tell me about the quality of the kitchens of mfi!

My SIL works for them and she has an MFI kitchen (she gets a discount of course but even so could afford to go upmarket if MFI ones were no good).

If you get them fitted by a proper fitter they are fine, apparently - if you DIY they might be a bit wobbly!

somebody else also told me the same that if I can get them installed properly they are great and not much different from the other good named companies as far as I find what I like and they have a design which i like alot but was just wondering if they are strong and sturdy enough as compared to these other german and french made cabinets like the ones collier does.

we had our MFI kitchen installed by a friend (a v.v. v. good diy-er though). the quality is absolutely fine, it doesn't look cheap, it works very well and easy to clean. BUT theire customer service is absolute rubbish!!! That's why I would never buy anthying from them ever again. The delivery was much later than promised, there was substantial missing parts whcich were delayed twice and we did the mistake of also buying some appliances from them at the same time. But the delivery for those was incredibly delayed, had to change one of them twice and it was still faultu, more delays etc. In the end we bought the appliances somewhere else. So good kitchen but very bad service.

The kitchen that we did in our last house was from MFI and we had no problems with it whatsoever! We will consider them again with our new house

We put an MFI kitchen in 3 years ago when we moved into our house. We have had no problems with it, apart from the fitters that MFI provided, they left a right mess, dust and shavings everywhere and screws missing. I rang MFI and they did send the fitters round again, but I had to clean up the mess myself as i could not do without a kitchen for a week. My advice is buy the kitchen, but get someone else to fit it.

I think it's because years ago their product quality was pants. I remember my mum and dad getting a wardrobe from there that rocked from side to side so it went back. But now they've had to clean their act up with competition from Ikea and the likes.

We got an MFI kitchen last November. As our budget was not great we went for a 'cheaper' one, but we and everyone think it looks nice and so far we have had no problems. However, we did buy our appliances elsewhere as it was much cheaper, and we were lucky cos the fitters were very good (they had even done some (low-grade) celeb houses with MFI kitchens).

But I would agree that the customer service and planning in our case were absolutely rubbish - had me tearing my hair out most days. I think we were unlucky with the person assigned to us but I would only use them again if I had a definite idea about what I wanted and what exactly was needed (eg backs to certain cupboards. I was gobsmacked that because I hadn't asked for them I didn't get them - don't all cupboards have backs????), which I would now that we've been through the process.

Its like everything else, if its fitted and done properly great ! you can have the most expensive tiles and they would look rubbish if not done properly and visa versa.

My Dh is a kitchen/bathroom fitter, in our first house we had takeaway kitchen from B&Q and cheap white budget tiles, it looked great as it was done properly.

i have MFI kitchen and it is fab - great quality!

Can't speak for MFI but we had a nightmare with Magnet. Absolute cowboys and dreadful service. We've just managed to get half of our installation fee refunded after almost a year by going through the industry watchdog, Qualitas.

Haven't read the thread but I have had nad continue to have terrible troubles with MFI and the kitchen I have bought.

If I can offer any advice it would be please, please, please don't buy a kitchen from MFI. They have and contiue to make my life a misery and I am now seeking legal advice.

I have half a kitchen and it appaulingly fitted. I have had half a kitchen for the last two months.

I could go on and on about how terrible they are but will refrain.

I certainly will never do business with MFL again.
