We did put 8 flights on there(don't worry the others will be paying me back) so that's a big chunk of it - but still scary!

woodpops · 25/08/2004 14:01

Oh I see thank you. As you can tell, I don't have an M&S card!!!!

Twinkie · 25/08/2004 14:04

Bloody hell I am restrained - I got 11 quid!!

notthecod · 25/08/2004 14:15

I got nowt!

Perhaps that's because I've never used it, the day I signed up they were offering 10% off everything you bought that week and you didn't have to pay for them with your card. Bargain! DH made me cut up the card when I got home though.

Bagpuss30 · 25/08/2004 15:39

Feeling very virtuous on the spending front now, only got £2 .

Prettybird · 27/08/2004 11:05

We got £45 in vouchers. I put as much as possible on the card to maximise what we get in vouchers - but we always pay it off in full every month. The interest you would pay if you don't pay it off more than outweighs the vouchers you get.

I also make sure to ask for quotes for home/car insurance - get 250 points (worth £2.50 in vouchers), even if you don't proceed with the quote.

notthecod · 27/08/2004 13:21

thats a good tip

How many vouchers do you get per £100 of spend? How does it compare with Tescos? - Just got £58 vouchers for the last quarter through.

Prettybird · 30/08/2004 12:54

I think it is 1 point for every £1 you spend in M& S and one point for every £2 you spend elsewhere. They also did a promotion for a while in July where the rate was doubled (ie 2 points for every £1 in M&S and 1 point for every £1).

In addition, you can get bonus points if you buy certain things in M&S.

I'm not sure it is the best deal around - but for me, at least I know I'll use the points and can see the benefit!

Prettybird · 30/08/2004 12:59

Should have added that 100 points = £1, so 1 point effectively = 1p
