Need to buy a washing machine and was looking at the Bosch as lots of people tend to rate them. Seeing the Jl/dishwasher thread lower down wondered if any one had tried to Jl washing machine as I was hoping that they might offer slightly better value for money.

Any one bought a washing machine recently that they would recommend. Probably want a 6kg one. Don't mind spending a bit more as it'll get used so much!

Thanks

I've got this one here .

Had an aeg last time that lasted for 14 yrs but apparently all washing machines are now made NOT to last.

My friend was recommended an Indesit by her repairman.

Had a look at the which and they seem to like Miele but they seem to take forever to wash - around two hours for some of them.

It's all so confusing!!

Just bought a Hotpoint Aqualtis which does a huge 7kg load and I luuuuurve it (much to Kewcumber's disgust).
It is quiet as anything, has a duvet and handwash cyle as well as small load, tripple A rated and not sure what else I can tell you.
John Lewis sell them though.

If I was due a new one, I'd buy a bosch, personally. My sil has one and she loves it.

We've got a John Lewis tumble drier, which is fantastic - much better than the Hotpoint it replaced, which broke down constantly. I think when our washing machine finally gives up, we'll probably replace it with a John Lewis one. They offer a long guarantee and really good customer service.

Good luck!

We bought a Daewoo from Curry's a few months back and it's fantastic.

I have a Miele, I've had it 6 years. Not one thing has ever gone wrong with it.

Got it in Selfridges reduced to £1000 from £1200 and it came with a 10 year guarantee.

It weighs the washing inside and it takes 1 hr 55 for a full load - mine are never that mind as it has a short cycle (30 minutes) and I wash everything at 40/30 so it only takes 1 hr 21 for a full load.

Unbelievably heavy though - every time we've moved we've needed a sack barrow but that's why it's so quiet and doesn't hop around.

Totally trouble free 6 years - bliss

I can honestly say it's the best grand I've ever spent.

we bought this Bosch recently and it's been great.

We have had the John Lewis jlwm1603 for about 6 months after only having Bosch appliances before and there's nothing I can say against it.

I haven't used all the programs but very simple to use (a plus in my book) and also you get a good warranty deal. Oh and it's quiet too!

I have a 9 month old john lewis washing machine

so far i have no problems with it and it washes a full cotten prog in just over an hour (even at 60c) whihc IMO is good and there is a 30min wash as well!

I LOve it.... and you get a 3 year warrentee

I was gonna get a bosch washing machine... but my fatehr has one and (unusually) has found it slightly unreliable... he had a prob with it when it was 2.5 years old (that he fixed himself)

therefore i got a john lewis cause of the 3 year warrentee.

also the bosch washing machine at my dads always smells gross.... no matter how wmany times i cleaned it, washed at 90 etc etc this smell keeps coming back, whhc put me off bosch tbh
