Fridge/freezer-any recommendations??

I'm buying my mate a fridge/freezer as a new baby present (unconventional i know) and wondered if anyone could recommend a largish capacity fridge/freezer? I only want to spend 350 tho so I know this limits it.

the damage they did to my floor while delivering it cost more than the blooming fridge freezer cost!!!

comet are very good and delivery is very quick

Another vote for buying from Comet, juniper - this is their fridge-freezer page, brief details all listed together including the ones with special prices (red arrow) and/or free delivery (green arrow) and they can usually deliver within a couple of days.

You can pick 4 and then have details listed on one page to compare.

And agree with Titania, your mate is very lucky

juniperDewdrop · 23/08/2004 15:43

cheers JanH x

I'm afraid Comet damaged our floor whilst delivering a fridge/freezer. The claim has all been sorted out now but it took some time.

Titania · 23/08/2004 16:38

dememnted its taking ages for me too.......

We bought a BEKO one in Jan 1997 and it's still working well. Has a decent sized fridge and also plenty of room in the freezer. We looked at loads of other better known makes, but all seemed to have tiny freezer compartments. BEKO are better known now, several years on, and still cheaper than many other brands. We bought it from a Tempo store which I believe are no more, but most electrical retailers sell it.

Try here . Go to Home kitchen and cleaning appliances, then fridge/freezers - we have the one near the top of the list - works well and still really cheap!HTH. Sorry don't know how to link to exact page!

my hotpoint future(seperates)have done fine and its a nice silver colour too
there fairly large and not too expensive and i think you can buy as a unit too

we bought one from argos online and the service was v. good. it cost £300, it is good quality and they delivered in time as promosed. free delivery by the way. you just have to choose one you like!

Titania, DH took them to the Small Claims Court in the end, then suddenly and cheque arrived a couple of weeks before the hearing, he rejected their offer however as he wanted some extra compensation for hassle and it went to Court for a whole extra £50. Apparently that's all moving myself and two children out of the house for two days and cleaning it top to bottom of dust from the sanding is worth!
