The Skoda Superb Estate

I am planning to change my car in the next few months. I am leaning towards the Skoda Superb Estate 4x4. I currently drive a Ford Focus. 2 DC at the moment - one in an ISOFIX Group 1 ERF seat and one in an ISOFIX Group 1/2/3 seat. Possibility of DC3 in the future.

I am looking for vastly more boot space for camping plus dog. I do not like a high driving position so that rules out SUVs. I do not want a people carrier. In the Autumn/Winter I need to drive to and from work for 8 miles in entirely untreated roads (rural Northern Scotland).

I like the Superb for the boot space, the space for 3 car seats on the back seat and the 4x4 option.

I think the new Volvo V90 has similar space but I'm not sure if there is anything else I should think about.

Would you suggest anything?

I had an Octavia estate for 8 years and that was very good, with an impressive boot. The Superb is even bigger and should provide plenty of space.

If you are driving on untreated roads in winter, 4x4 helps a bit, but it doesn't improve your grip for braking at all. The right tyres will help a lot more. If you don't want to be swapping between summer and winter tyres then put Michelin CrossClimate tyres on. They perform like premium summer tyres in normal conditions, but they have the "three peaks" winter tyre rating as well. I used them on untreated roads last winter (not Scotland and not on a 4x4) and they were pretty good,

We have a Superb and it is fantastic - the boot is truly cavernous and theres loads of room in the back even with 6'3 DH driving

I have an Octavia estate and I love it. The dog lives in the boot but there’s still room for other things. It’s a really good, driveable car.

We have it and it's frigging amazing. 2 DCs and we camp. Much cheaper than equivalents on the market and a nice range of petrol engines (we're anti diesel).

Sorry but vectra not a patch on the superb.

Had the option of an isgnia on my list awful.

Skoda was far and above the best car. Also had a Passat a4 And bmw 3 series on the list. Don’t regret the Skoda at all.
