Vintage teasmade, help!

I've picked up a vintage Swan Compact Teasmade today and I can't work the damn thing!
It looks as though I can set an alarm and also set the teasmade to make tea automatically but when I press either the 'on' button or the 'auto' button it begins to make the tea. I have attached a picture and if anyone can help me, I'd be eternally grateful!

Well I'll have a try. You need to move the alarm round to a time in the future - from the pic it looks as though it is set on 7.00 (the red hand) and then fill up, put in a tea bag and press alarm. We have one but not that model unfortunately. If you ever get it working a tip is to use powdered milk as it saves having proper milk in the bedroom and if you drink it early enough you may not notice the difference!
