Time for a new car?

I've had my very much loved Ford KA (2003) for 5 years and it has never, ever let me down! Seen me through the good, the bad and the ugly lol. It has done over 100k on it now (petrol engine), and slowly beginning to ask for more money! I had to get the wheels changed, the rot had to be covered, coil spring replaced, oil leak fixed... and now it is making a weird sound and I have decided I don't want to spend any more money on it! It's not even worth £300 now for what it is. I am looking for a bigger car, preferably a diesel as I drive far distance on the motorway. Been looking at Toyota 07 plate (I can't afford a new car and I don't want it in finance). If you was in my shoes, would you continue?! The problem is I need a car to be reliable as I use it every day to take my DS to CMs and so I get to work (60mile round trip).

If I were in your shoes, I would be looking for a new car. Skodas are a budget-friendly option. Would try and get newer than 07 though.

Second a Skoda. The Citigo is lovely and the more expensive of the two engines (I think the GreenTech one) is good for long journeys too. Loads on autotrader that have been used for motorway commutes every day.

Thank you! I am looking for a Skoda at the moment, but I am looking at Nissan as well. I am not sure yet but I am definitely gearing more towards Skoda's! They look so spacious as well.

You get a lot of car for your money with Skodas & they are definitely spacious. What's your budget?

Maybe also look at a Mazda or Kia? I've had both ultra reliable. Loved my Mazda and wouldn't have changed it but had DS and needed 5 doors. Now have a Kia Rio
