Urrrgh! I was paranoid before. Now I'm worse!

imnot27 · 05/06/2007 13:54

I saw the which report last year, was shocking actually. Had to go out and replace my graco junior (rated poor) with a Britax Kid which cost twice as much, and ds2 is now in a britax evolva (£100 ) after being evicted from his mothercare one, also rated poor. Obviously, can't ever put a price on their safety, but I only saw the article cos I was researching vacuum cleaners!

Is scary how many of us don't see this info. They should rethink the safety regs IMO.

thehairybabysmum · 05/06/2007 14:05

Did you see the crash test footage...frightening!!

bigmouthstrikesagain · 05/06/2007 14:58

I used to work with local authority road safety officers - they all unofficially recommend 'britax' as they are well built, very safe and you can use their website to find out which seat will suit your car.

I also get very concerned when I see second hand car seats being sold (at carboots etc.)no safety equipment should be bought used unless you can vouch for the fact it has never been dropped.

Why car seats that are sub-standard are allowed to be sold is beyond me...

Yes, had to replace one of mine last year too.

Katy44 · 05/06/2007 15:55

tinytotmummy · 05/06/2007 16:13

Thankyou lionheart and katy. Have just bought three new maxi cosi car seats (one of each stage), so was hoping they were ok!

buktus · 05/06/2007 16:15

Katy44 · 05/06/2007 16:39

Glad to hear the new one I've got is really good - I assume everyone was OK in your crash as well
