Post feed nipple care

Hi,

I'm after advice about how you 'dress' your breasts after a feed?

Baby was born Friday 17/8/18 and I'm currently putting lanolin on nipple then breast pad onto boob and bra back on.

When I come to remove the pad from the boob for the next feed my nipple is slightly stuck to the pad and hurts a bit to pull away.

Are there any tips or tricks?

Thanks,

S. X

When mine were really sore I expressed a little milk onto my nipples then let them air dry and then put the lansinoh on.

I'm sure I had a solution to the sticking part but I can't for the life of me remember what it was - it was nearly a year ago now!

Multi mam compresses are also great, super soothing and can be used a couple of times though the packet says only once each.

Multi mam are great if you're sore - trick is to cut one in half rather than use two as they're quite pricey!

I had this issue and someone told me to put a cabbage leaf in my bra - I thought this was an old wives tale but in desperation (at three weeks and dreading feeding DD due to the soreness) I tried it and it worked!!!

Thanks everyone.

Bought the multi-Mam compresses today and they felt amazing.

I think the other problem is that since my milk has come in, my nursing bra's are WAY to small! They really squish my nipples flat. Therefore the pad is super tight against my nipple.

I went to a breastfeeding clinic today too as my little one is tongue tied and she suggested ditching the breast pads as I'm not actually leaking between feeds. She also said I could be using too much lanolin.

Currently sat just airing my boobs with nothing on them. Lol

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Sinead.
