Shame no one answered, I also need a new one and am fed up of the things only lasting a year or 2 at the most or is that normal?

My best tip is buy one from your salon.

Our hairdressers sell them, and they are a lot more powerful than ones I've bought at random in the past!

No specific tips - but that works for me!

My hairdresser recommended a Tigi hairdryer, it was around the £100 mark, I haven't bought it.

However my old hairdryer is years old and lacking in power so I do need to replace it. I bought a £20 salon style one for our apartment and was pretty impressed, think it was Babyliss.

I did have a braun one for ages but then I was young free and single so now there are 4 of us using it I suppose it's normal for the thing to wear out . Good idea about asking at the salon, will do next time.
