Help can't get Mini Mircro scooter to turn!!!

Have just bought my toddler this scooter and thought we'd take it to the park today. Opened box and stuck handlebars in - great so far so good. It goes well in a straight line but it won't turn. I'm sure it's supposed to be able to turn (isn't is???). The instructions just say "make sure the steering rod is fully engaged" - how?????

Help please.

You turn by leaning in the direction you want to go - it doesn't actually turn like a steering wheel.
(although I wouldn't worry too much about the turning for a while yet - it took my DS1 (3) a good few weeks to get comfortable enough with it to be able to turn!)
Enjoy your trip to the park.

have you put the handlebars on the right way round. - My ds has a cheapo one that does steer BTW

There were some bits underneath that I have taken off - now it "leans". Hope I have done the right thing!!!!

you get it to turn by applying pressure on one or the other side of the T handle bar. the firmer the pressure, the tighter the turn. excellent little scooter.
