when he was four he played with thomas engines (they dry out ok) and we built bridges with loofahs over the bath.

now he plays with star wars figures, also based on high bridges.

i quite like the look of the new playmobile boat

KathG · 30/05/2007 20:41

sounds silly but a selection of old baby bottles different makes so different shapes, enjoys pouring and measuring.

DaisysGotSausageFeet · 30/05/2007 20:41

Our DS, 5, has a plastic teaset and we have great fun playing tea-shop with it....

.....its either that or his boats and dinosaurs

....we've also got a basketball type thing that suckers to the tiles, but he can't get the balls (which are fishies) through the hole yet and gets really frustrated.....

not sure what to suggest for girls

BettySpaghetti · 30/05/2007 20:44

We have a great toy from Boots -its s bit like a marble run with sections you stick on to the side of the bath, water wheels etc. You can run just water along it or the plastic balls that come with it.

Also Crayola bath crayons, empty shampoo bottles, other containers and her 2 yr old brother!

FrannyandZooey · 30/05/2007 20:46

The absolute best things we have are:

plastic funnels (cookware shop etc)
metre of thick plastic tubing (B+Q)
plastic jug
syringes (chemists)
mister sprays (garden shop etc)

Otter · 30/05/2007 20:46

mine has a mere -cat badger and toad at this moment but can be up to 100 variations on this theme

oh and a 15 year old brother - bless

foxinsocks · 30/05/2007 20:46

a cup and a set of funnels (in the kitchen bit) from ikea

and they try and drown each other in the bath which is the best game of course

littlerach · 30/05/2007 20:47

dd, 6, has a coupel aof cut out doll shapes and clothes to g owith them, made out of a rubber type material so they stick to the edge of th ebath.
She loves them.
Don't know where they are forn though.

Hulababy · 30/05/2007 20:48

DD (5yo) sometimes takes in her Baby Born doll, and uses empty cups or little flannels to wash it. She also has a bath mat which makes jacuzzi type bubbles which she enjoys, and she spends ages messing with a bath bomb from Lush.

southeastastra · 30/05/2007 20:49

francagoestohollywood · 30/05/2007 21:05

Apart from with her siblings, my 4yo throws water around, uses different buckets, bottles, tubes etc. she also plays with my 2yo's teletubby bath set too

Enid · 30/05/2007 21:10

her sisters

and mrsbadgers sea ponies

FrannyandZooey · 30/05/2007 21:30

syringes are more exciting than you would believe

we have strict instructions about where you can squirt them, but the ceiling usually turns out to be the most impressive and least disastrous

Dottydot · 30/05/2007 21:33

his willy!

Ahem. But as well as that, then any old plastic cups, empty shampoo bottles (make brilliant squirty toys) and sometimes boats that we've collected along the way.

ChasingSquirrels · 30/05/2007 21:37

umm - my 16mo kid, but I don't suppose that helps!

Lullabyloo · 30/05/2007 21:40

Ds loves his play food & saucepans in the bath to make soups & cake

also foam shapes of road pieces & vehicles..that you stick on the tiles to make play scenes(think they were from Letterbox)

Lmccrean · 30/05/2007 22:31

thats great everyone, thanks! at minute its just her doll and stick up foam shapes...def look into playmobil boat - I loved that stuff as a kid!
