Ds4 keeps getting blinded byythe sun adn parasols are pretty damn useless.

I hate those shade-a babe things so don't wanttone of those either...

I saw a Rayshade wotsit the other day and thought it looked good so wondered if anyone in MNland has one?

No but I have the protect-a-bub from Blooming Marvellous and it is pretty much the same thing. We bought ours after ds2 had managed to get the insect/sun net off our phil and teds and also managed to dismantle a normal parasol too. They are really good (ds2 can't get at it to take it off etc) and a few other mothers at our school gates now have similar ones since we got ours so they must be a fairly popular choice.

I think tey are exactly the same thing bagpuss. I've just looked at the blooming marvelous one and if they're not identical then they're pretty close.

I'm chuffed that I found one, parasols should be banished from the earth IMO. They rae sooo unbelievavaly useless.

Oh, I saw last year after we bought ours that toys r us do them but rebranded as their own (Bruin?), the picture on the packet is exactly the same as the protect a bub one. They were a little cheaper I think.

I got my protectabub from here
Absolutely brilliant IMO

The company is great - very personal attention - I think she is called Caroline Birt (and if that's right my memory HAS come back - yay!) and she is lovely

those shade-a -babe thing seems so weird to me.
Almost total blackout....I'm sure they can't be that nice being on the inside.

I've ordered on of the rayshade things now, hopefully we'll get some more sun soon.

Our P&T one was a bit like that LTH and when ds2 was a newborn it was great for putting on the pram in the garden etc. Last year though, once he was sitting up, he just decided to yank it off the pram (stupid thing was velcroed on) as he couldn't see where he was going - that's another £20 wasted then.

I think al MNers should buy one

Digressing a bit, but can you fit a rayshade/protect-a-bub to a Phil & Teds to protect baby underneath too (or baby in back seat?)

winestein · 01/06/2007 15:00

amazonian - you can only fit them onto a pushchair with a canopy - and as I recall there is no canopy on the back part(?) Could fit one on to the front canopy facing backwards? (if the front paseneger was having any of it that is!)

LadyTophamHatt · 01/06/2007 15:20

the straps to connect it have 2 long velcro bits so I think technaically you could connect it in any manor of ways...jsut as long as thers a hood to support it first IYSWIM.

Glad you like it! This is my personal favourite because the baby can see out and you can see it. It offers shade without blackout and it also offers some protection from insects. www.sashaskiddieproducts.com/strollers.htm
