DS Lite OR Leapster for my dd's 7th birthday ??

Title says it all really - which to but for a 7 yr old girl ?

Her friend has a Leapster and she fancies one of them - but they look a bit young for her to me - obv if am spending lots of money I want it used for as long as poss !!

So Mumsnet jury - what fdo you think ?

For a 7 year old I would think a ds lite would get longer use. My ds has both. Leapsters are good but most of his friends have a ds now. They can connect them up and stuff when they play together (don't really understand how).

A lot of the leapster reviews on Amazon talk about their 3 yr old loving their leapster !! Will go for a pink DS lite then !
