Avent products and Milton sterilising stuff

I have been using Milton in cold water for sterilising the breast pump and dummies and have noticed that some of the Avent cups and lids have got a sticky white coating (sounds yuck but not really sure how else to explain it!)

Any idea what this is? And waht to do about it?

TIA

are you washing them well then rinsing before sterilising? i used milton tablet throughout the sterilising days and never got that! i used to regulary clean my steriliser!

thanks elsie - I phoned Avent and she said that the new system (semi-disposable cups and lids) don't react well to the Milton and that I should boil them or do steam sterilising. It worked fine for me before but I'm on baby number 3 after 3 years break and it all seems to have changed!

thats strange did you ask for refund? as changing methods can be hardwork and expensive

hairymclary · 29/05/2007 23:22

if they're semi-disposable I doubt they'd give a refund.
