Well I noticed this week that Size 4 said it was to be discontinued. Huggies was on offer so I bought them instead because I was so pissed off. Actually they're much better, but then they should be for £1.80 a pack more.

chocolatebirdy · 28/05/2007 23:51

Just wait til you need to buy huggies 4+, they are always oos

EllieK · 28/05/2007 23:51

don't know if they're phasing them out but i did discover it is down to the store manager to decide whether to stock them or not. we need size6 and they disappeared so had to keep buying pampers, spoke to manager and he got them bavk in just for me

Twinklemegan · 28/05/2007 23:52

oos??

chocolatebirdy · 28/05/2007 23:52

sorry, out of stock!!

Twinklemegan · 28/05/2007 23:53

My experience with Tesco is that anything I like and start buying gets discontinued within a few weeks. I think I must go against the general grain in this area (which doesn't surprise me judging by what they DO stock).

Twinklemegan · 28/05/2007 23:53

Duh!

I found Pampers absolutely crap I have to say (other than their newborn soft ones). Yes, Tescos are fine (very good in fact) and I would also resent paying full price for Huggies or Pampers.

Have you tried Lidl's? They are fab. Only up to size 5 though, but the pull on pants are even better.

Twinklemegan · 29/05/2007 19:33

False alarm Harman. I had another look today and it seems they've rebranded them as a Baby Essentials range and reduced the price to £3.97 a pack. I just hope they haven't reduced the quality as well...

MilaMae · 29/05/2007 20:50

Sainsburys do size 6, always seem to be in stock so I load up once a month, quite good to and reasonable price.

stargate · 29/05/2007 21:04

no nappies in our tesco either yesterday but I think the baby essentials range has always been there and is different.

all the shelf labels said discontinued, which i've noticed recently seems to apply to changing the packaging, making them bigger/smaller. so fingers crossed they are running stock down in anticipation of the new stock.

i went to morrisons instead.. oh and if you use pullups - huggies are bogof until june 10th

babyblue2 · 29/05/2007 21:04

They have them in our local tescos

fizzbuzz · 29/05/2007 21:41

Ys, I have noticed strange disappearance of Tesco nappies. The Baby Essential ones are not as good as the Superit ones which are the ones which have gone.

Anyone know what is going on?

Twinklemegan · 29/05/2007 21:49

Ah I'd never noticed the Baby Essentials ones before. Glad I didn't buy any then.

4jen · 29/05/2007 22:20

Last time I bought some the ticket said they were to be discontinued. Shame as they are the best. Asda's own are pretty good or Sainsburys.

Twinklemegan · 29/05/2007 22:21

Well like I said earlier, Tesco's policy seems to be to discontinue the best products. cf Sainsbury's policy of not bothering to stock them at all.

I bloody hate supermarkets!

They've probably got a trained monkey typing out that stock response all day every day.

fizzbuzz · 30/05/2007 21:10

I was forced to order the Baby Essential ones as no others on website.

I was sent Superfit as a substitution! [hmm[ Even more confused now
