We have a Britax renaissance from dd1,(shes in a self strapping booster with a back & neck rest), but it doesnt fit in our current car for dd2, shes in a rear facing car seat that shes now to big for , (too long) , and dont know what to go for.

There is a Fitfinder on the Britax site and similar on Maxi Cosi , but neither are comprehensive.

but the thing I found from research the other week is that unless they have physically tested the speciific seat in the specific car they won't list it , so an omission doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't fit iyswim.

ahh on Britax they have tested them in our car , its states :

It was necessary to use the alternative routing.
It was awkward to install due to limited room (this comment may only be relevant in 3 door models).

?????

I know a trip to mothercare etc is eesential , but now I have some model types to look for. Strange as they suggest the Britax Rennaisance is ok , but the new one seems to be an SI version. May be the newer model fits.

Its sooo annoying as we will be getting rid of this car next year.

Confusing isn't it . I emailed them in the end and got a very wishy washy reply !

it seems the girls in the shops often know better than the actual manufacterers. I suppose as they fit these day in day out in to all sorts of cars.
