i have got one, have had it for yeras. ok on coarse hair but doesn't pick up finer ones. takes ages too, mainly because i have quite fine hair from waxing - you need a similar length regrwoth.

i use it when too poor/busy to wax. it hurts more the hairier you are.

I've got one and use it only on my arms ! Too painful on legs !

My friend has terrible scarring from ingrown hairs on her legs and bikini area from epilating !

hmmm, maybe stick with shaving then

I've had one for a while. I use it in my chin (a terrible legacy from my mother) and I used to use it on my legs. Its fine on my chin. Much quicker than plucking with tweezers. However I've pretty much given up on my legs. First it took ages to get them really smooth - was fine for a quick wizz but beyond that too slow. Also loads of the hairs seemed to grow back in the wrong direction. Didn't scar or anything horrible but made them really itchy. Then you spend ages trying to free them so too much hassle IMO. Have just gone back to using a razor. Much easier.

recommended in the times this week. Half price on amazon for a philips massage one apparently.

I have a braun silk-epil and I love it to bits. I do everything from my 'tash to my toes. Except my under-arms.

I scrub myself every day with those exfoliating gloves you can buy from the Body Shop, so haven't had any problems with ingrowing hairs.

I'm quite dark and furry, and don't have to do it very often at all now.

Definately recommend!

HAve used one on my legs for years. it is great only need to do them every 2-3 weeks.
Painful on underarms though.

NineUnlikelyTales · 27/05/2007 16:10

Despite doing all the exfoliating etc I got really bad ingrown hairs. And they still keep on growing inwards even though I sold my epilator 2 years ago I have since heard that it is because the epilator grabs the hairs in a random way and damages the folicles. I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole now.

Don't get many ingrown hairs. But i love squeezing them out when I do.
