Summer shoes for school.

DS1's school doesn't allow sandals in summer but i don't want him to have to wear his thick leather Clarks shoes in really hot weather. Can anyone recommend some light shoes that come in black? I've been looking but have found nothing yet.

leather is a good choice. worn with socks, the skin can still breather and wont get all sweaty and ithcy and blistery and fungusy and yucky.
i went to school in the middle of the desert. and leather shoes orn with socks were always far helathier for your feet than any other options. canvas, plastic, fashion shoes in particular were a very bad choice.
perhaps you can find some lightweight black leather trainers?

Oh, i didn't realise this, i just thought thick leather would make his feet too hot and sweaty (but then I live in flip flops all summer). maybe it's not a problem after all. Thanks cylonbabe.

Any other suggestions?
