Car seat recommendation needed

Hi, I'm looking for a car seat for 12 mth old DD - main consideration is that it needs to fit most cars and be easily transferable from one to another as I car-share to work and will be dropping her off at childminder on the way. Was going to get the Britax Freeway but it seems this has been discontinued - can anyone recommend another? Also needs to be as cheap as possible. Thanks!

The Maxi Cosi Tobi did really well in the Which trials - very safe and "one of the easiest seats in this weight category to use".

Not cheap though...

I love my maxi cosi tobi, but like mrs b said £165 is not cheap. I think fisher price do a version of the freeway but these days they recommend a 5 point harness up till about 18 months. Mothercare do a seat a bit like the britax evolva which has a five point harness that can be taken off later and used a booster seat which i think is about £60. Mothercare will also check the seat in your car to make sure it fits.

Thanks. Is the maxi cosi tobi easy to move from one car to another?

I was thinking of getting a Tobi but read somewhere that there had been some problems with the harness on some of them where it just loosens itself and the child could get its arms out.
Have you considered the Priori XP, Maxi Cosi make one for mothercare its slightly cheaper £69.99 great seat and easy to move from car to car.
