I've been doing some research into finding a good travel cot for my dd. Wanted something light so initially looked at the Samsonite Bubble but have since found the Nomad Travel Bed and the Littlelife 2 Arc which should last until she's around 4. Does anyone have any experience of these and/or other recommendations???? TIA

Make sure you try it out first if you can to see how easy they are to get up/down

We were leaving DS1 at my mums a few weeks ago so we could have our last night out before DS2 was born. We were almost crying when we couldn't get the effing travel cot up.

Some of them are very tricky

Check the dimensions carefully as I remember some of them being quite small when we bought ours. The sides on some of them were really low, a standing toddler probably could have jumped over and escaped!!

Thanks for the tips. Was hoping to get one online somewhere so it's cheaper but should probably have a look around locally first to get a feel for the sizes.

i have just got back from a weeks holiday and my 4 month old used the new arc 2 - it was brilliant - very light and easy to put up once you get the knack - took me about 10 minutes on first attempt but my husband managed to do it in about 1 minute on his first attempt! i got mine from solattire.co.uk for £59.95.

Thanks lovedandadored, I really like the look of this one and it's really similar to the Nomad tent too but about half the price! Will try to see one in RL and then make my mind up!

The Nomad travel bed is expensive (or it was when we bought it) - on the other hand it takes up very little room in our not very roomy car boot (which was why we bought it) and we used it at Easter with DS who is a tall 4.4 yrs.....
He loves it. Always has.
Our considered opinion is that it was worth every penny we paid for it....
I can't comment on the Littlelife 2 Arc. It didn't exist when we were looking, but it looks similar.

We've got a M&P deluxe something or other. We got for dd who used it until she was 3 when ds took it over (he is now 2). It has accompanied us on many holidays and overnighters and was and still is in daily use for daytime naps at my parents house as they look after kids while I work. It is rather heavy but easy to put up and down and given it just gets slung in the car the weight doesn't matter.

Thanks everyone. Think I'm going to go with the Nomad. Had a quick look at "traditional" travel cots today but they're just so damn heavy in comparison. Will order one online later in the week.
