What would you buy for 5k?

I'm looking at getting myself a newer car budget 5k-ish.
We have a family car, this will be my car so even though I will need a 5 seater it doesn't need to be massive.
I have only been driving about 18m so nothing too large or expensive to insure.
I'm considering a Fiesta, Polo or smaller engine Golf, Juke, Jazz so smallish hatchbacks. Any recommendations or dont buys?

How many miles a year will you be covering?

Anything with a Japanese engine will last the test of time. So a Nissan no matter how big or small, MX5 sports car, a Micra or a Quashqai, I'd go with.

mbwoy84 not many, will be mainly local driving. Under 6k I reckon.

PinguPaws thanks I will have a look at the micra too, think a qashqai might be a little big for a second car. It was on My list initially though because I like them.
