cheapest wooden train set?

We want to get our train obsessed 2 year old a wooden train set for his third birthday in December - the kind you can keep adding bits to - like Brio, I think. Does anyone know where we can get one at a good price?

Mez - have emailed you again from a different a/c.

Hoxtonchick - I'll try to weigh them tonight and a price including postage and paypal for you.

LunarSea · 19/08/2004 23:08

hoxtonchick - I've just weighed them and I'm afraid postage on 3 videos will cost £3.10, so with Paypal too it would have to be £6.94. Is that too much?

hoxtonchick · 20/08/2004 16:08

That's fine LunarSea, sounds like a small sum for not having to trawl through charity shops. And I've already told ds they're coming... Do you want to e-mail me on hoxtonchickAThotmail.com & I'll give you my address. Also, can I be really cheeky & ask you to send them in a couple of weeks as we're going away & our post is really unreliable & I'd rather be around. I'll pay you immediately.

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:14

lunarsea, my payment is sitting here! i will post it, just top lety you know i havent forgot

zebra · 20/08/2004 16:15

Oh, poo, if you end up with any engines left over, Lunarsea, I'd be very interested, too.

suzywong · 20/08/2004 16:15

How is your move going?

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:19

well we are in kent now, but things are not good, as you may know !

glad you are loving it. It must have been very stressful!

suzywong · 20/08/2004 16:21

Fio2 · 20/08/2004 16:26

sort of! yes and no, dh is working in dorset now, wine helps!

marthamoo · 20/08/2004 16:26

OMG suzy - you are THERE!!! Congratulations!!!

unicorn · 20/08/2004 17:01

lunarsea, superquick service a++++ !
they arrived today, one happy little boy.
Thanks.

LunarSea · 22/08/2004 21:40

zebra - it's not strictly speaking an engine, but I do have Cranky the Crane, which I'd forgotten about as I was only looking through the engines. Would that be of any interest to you?

Gingerbear · 24/08/2004 11:06

LunarSea,

many thanks. Percy, Oliver, George and Bertie arrived on time yesterday, much to DD's delight.

(Better scheduling on Sodor than Network Rail obviously!! )

Azure · 25/08/2004 09:03

Hi Lunarsea - if Zebra's not interested, could I put in a bid for Cranky? How much do you want for him?

LunarSea · 25/08/2004 11:23

Azure - will let you know either way when I hear back from zebra.

LunarSea · 25/08/2004 22:38

Azure - can you contact me about Cranky on gill AT removethisbit.gmx.co.uk (if that makes sense).

collision · 25/08/2004 23:09

Is there anything left now or have you sold it all?

LunarSea · 26/08/2004 08:43

I still have more videos collision, and possibly some Thomas books when my clearout gets as far as the bookcases, but if Azure wants Cranky I'll be out of surplus wooden Thomas railway things.

It's not impossible that there might be some more later though, as a couple of times I've bought collections of Thomas engines to expand ds's selection, and inevitably there are a few duplicates. If that happens I'll offer them here, and you and zebra can have first choice.

Azure · 26/08/2004 14:51

Lunarsea - unfortunately, DH has gone out this lunchtime and bought a brand new Cranky for DS's birthday tomorrow. Thanks all the same for the offer.

LunarSea · 26/08/2004 15:25

Any other takers for Cranky - or he's off to Ebay!
