You need to wet it if it's the crystal! I bouht this and didn't realise and thought it didn;'t work too, chucked it and then read that you're supposed to wet it. I use the spray sometimes, it works ok imo

fishie · 23/05/2007 20:33

i don't think it works. also its a deodorant not an antiperspirant so it won't stop you sweating notsofarnow.

notsofarnow · 23/05/2007 20:36

I do wet it before I put it on but I can smell myself so it aint working is it have given it to my dd to see if she gets on any better with it.

I couldn't get on with it at all. It is a deordorant not an anti perspparant (nice original spelling there!) so you still end up with sweat pits! Or I did anyway. A natural one that I find does work (even with weird hormonal sweatiness (sorry tmi!!) is the biosen (or bionsen? Its sort of kingfisher blue in a small can and supermarkets sell it) stick or spray.

Ah good - another sweaty betty thread ! I was just thinking today that I must find that old one and update the mn world with my fab new discovery !!

So - I have found something that actually stops me sweating at all !!! It's called Perspirex - from Boots - about £6.50 - you put it on at night, 2 or 3 nights a week - let it dry and shower off in the morning ! It actually works !!

Stings like buggery if you put it oin newly shaved pits - so you've got to work out when to shave and when to apply etc - but it really actually does work - Hoorah !

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2007 22:23

Didn't work for me either. Another fan of Bionsen here - you can get it in Tesco's

notsofarnow · 23/05/2007 22:28

Has the bionsen got perfume in it because thats the reason I bought the pit rok as I can't use any with perfume in because it makes my pits red raw.

Used to use right guard unperfumed from savers but now they have been taken over by superdrug and I can;t find it anywhere else.

I used to be horribly sweaty and tried every product known to man to no avail, even prescriptions from the doc....then I was diagnosed with coeliac disease and gave up wheat, rye, barley and oats......don't really sweat at all now, and I think wheat is one of the biggest culprits!

The one I found most effective however was a prescription one called Driclor, which is unscented. I think though that it's now available over the counter in Boots.
