Anyone got a VW Polo?

Considering buying a year to 18 month old VW Polo TSI match for daughter.

Needs to be safe and reliable.

She lives in the city and she travels approx. 10 miles a day to her work
Very occasional motorway trip .

She has her own insurance.

Anyone any experience?

Very reliable. Not huge : I probably do too much motorway travel in it but it’s great around town

Sounds perfect for what you described

Plus they keep their value more than other brands of cars

Amazing cars - pretty much what i use one for. Can't see past it tbh

V reliable & tough little car. Tendency for check engine light to come on all the time on older ones (see early series of The Big Bang Theory! Penny's car is a VW). I had one for about 4 yrs. They are a good solid car.

I had a 1l 1989 polo as my first car.

I loved that car.

DS2 has an 09 plate VW Polo Match. It’s his pride and joy.

He lives in a city and uses it for nipping about mainly. He’s been going to his placement 40ish miles away the last few weeks and is getting quite good fuel return from it.

We’ve got a diesel Polo that’s served us really well. We’ve had it 6 years, it had 14k on the clock when we got it and it’s got 100k on it now. We’re selling it because we want something newer. I feel like I’m going to jinx it now but nothings gone wrong on it.

I had Polos years ago. I crashed into a telegraph pole in one and it was really badly damaged but I was unhurt. They’re really good cars.

Thanks everyone .

My old dad was a VW man and I hoped they were still as good.

I will sign on the dotted line tomorrow!

sorry to disagree with some other contributors, but an 18 month old VW Polo will be the previous shape (5th gen) and they are not reliable.

Please check out honestjohn website car reviews and also the VW polo owners forum

various common faults with these cars from component failure to iffy engines.
