Want to buy a bath seat/support for DS3...........which of these would you recommend???

Basically I want a bath seat/support thing that I can use in the bath when I bath DS3 when he arrives - nothing too big though as I aim to get all 3 DS's bathed together (currently do the 2 DS's together) so needs to be fairly small - but big enough to last until DS3 is able to sit on his own.

Seen a few on kiddicare and wondered if anyone had them and what they think

option 1

option 2

option 3

option4

We had something similar to Option 3 at one point, but didn't get on with it too much. Still requires you to support baby whilst int he water, and starts to come apart after a short while as well.

This is what we ended up buying - or something very similar from PPH. Was much better and easier to use.

REIDmylips · 22/05/2007 20:14

we had option 1 with our ds. was really cheap from tesco (about a fiver i think) was brilliant!! dh and i were really nervous about bathing ds (our first) this made it really easy!

looked comfortable and was really safe (i had huge doubts when i first saw it!) made bath time easy and fun, ds loves his bath and i'm convinced that our confidence with him in the bath when he was younger has a little to do with it.

hth good luck

We have the one hulababy linked and have used it for ds and both dds. It is great as I bath all mine together so gives me hands free but no matter how much dc kick not one has slipped out!!

fannyannie · 22/05/2007 20:16

so you can definitely fit Hulababy's one in the bath with a 3yr old and 6yr old you reckon???

Have to say it does look like it'd support them quite well...

meant to add at very first we had option 1 but found it ended up smelling a bit rank so got the other one.I bath all 3 of mine together with DD2 in the bath seat.

ProfYaffle · 22/05/2007 20:18

I've got the Hulababy one as well, it's fab.

fannyannie · 22/05/2007 20:18

you'd think I'd have such things sorted out by now wouldn't you - especially as I'm 38 weeks today - DS1 my waters broke at 38+1 and DS2 they broke at 39+1 LOL.

FA dont worry about it for the first couple of weeks you will probably find it easier to bath the newbie[aww newborns] in the sink while the other 2 are in the bath!

the option 1 we had you could take the cover off so we put it in the washing machine evey now and again, didnt have any problem with smell. Once ds grew out of that we went onto the one linked by hula. We didnt use it straight away with ds because it seemed too big for him.

REIDmylips · 22/05/2007 20:22

... although couldnt have done without it once he reached a couple of months old!

fannyannie · 22/05/2007 20:24

lol Nemo - don't think our sink is big enough - kitchen one is but it's one of those horrible plastic things (a nice stainless steel one is "on the list" of things to 'upgrade' in the house ), and the bathroom one is too small - even for a tiny newborn .

Hatrick how much do you think postage would be???

I can recommend option 1.
We got ours in a local Nursery shop and it was brilliant.
Bung it in the washing machine once a week and it won't smell

Macdog · 22/05/2007 20:33

Cover that is, not frame

fannyannie · 22/05/2007 20:33

waves at lockets .

okey dokey then - let me know how much postage will be and then I can either send you a cheque, or paypal you the money whichever you'd prefer .

guess the deal has been done, but I bathe my 3 at the same time, the two older ones are at each end, and the baby is in the middle, I just hold her with my hands - I don't get all these fancy things for having a bath in. They sit up soon enough and tghen you don't need special stuff!

ellenkpa · 22/05/2007 22:48

option 1 - i used this with ds1, worked well, easy to use

option 2 - looks quite big

option 3 - doesn't look like you would be able to have much water in there with it

option 4 - i have this for ds2, is very good but doesn't support him as well as option 1 and is too big to use with 2 other children IMO

eidsvold · 22/05/2007 22:51

have used option 1 with all my three - nice and easy - quick drying so no mould. Ours is actually towelling so if we have a poo incident it can be chucked in the wash.

friend used the hulababy one and she swore by it.

glamourbadger · 23/05/2007 09:58

I've used Option 3 and would recommend, cheap and easy to store (I roll mine up and hang in a net over a bath. My girls still sitting on them at 1 year, stops their little bottoms slipping around.

Enid · 23/05/2007 10:01

they all look rubbish

the safer bather (polystyrene beads in waterproof pad - ilke a floating bean bag) is the best thing I ever bought when mine were tiny. Blooming Marvellous do them.

dont bother doing them all at once until dc3 can sit up properly

do baby first then the otehr 2

bozza · 23/05/2007 10:05

I used the bean bag thing with both mine. It was great for laying them on and also gave them some support when they were sitting but not that steady. I bathed them together from DD being 3 weeks. DS in, washed, DD in, washed, swished around a bit, DD out, DS playing, DD dried and into babygro, DS out and dried and into pjs.

Grrrr · 23/05/2007 10:09

we used "tigex" (sp) bath seat thing, hard plastic but warmed up by the bath water. the ds s both seemd to like it.

The only drawback is price, even second hand on ebay they're not cheap.
