Land Rover discovery sport

I am looking at 7 seaters, I’d like to put 3 car seats across in a row. I don’t really want to put a car seat in the third row though. So it’s down to an Audi Q7 but I feel it is huge, a Volvo XC90 I read that it doesn’t take 3 seats across and Land Rover discovery sport. I don’t like the look of the discovery.

So my question is are they reliable? I’ve heard people have had quite a few problems. The last thing I want is to have to keep going back to the garage.

Also if you own one do you recommend it

Thank you

Skoda Kodiaq or Volvo.

Disco sport will be too small.

Q7 for cocks.

I had a brand new Volvo XC90 and fought to give it back, it kept breaking down, they eventually took it back, but I had to go through the motoring ombudsmen!! It took 7 months and I still lost £10k!!!

Check the driving forums. They should tell you what you need to know. Can you put one child in the front?

Swifey · 14/06/2018 21:01

Oh no, of course not, no isofix. Sorry. Stupid question.

Atetoomanyjaffacakes · 14/06/2018 21:03

We have a skoda kodiaq, not sure you will get 3 in the middle row, it's quite narrow

Callmecordelia · 14/06/2018 21:06

The Discovery will not take three across in the middle row. There are five isofix points though - two in the third row, two in the middle and one in the front, with the right spec.

yougogirl150 · 14/06/2018 21:25

I drove a borrowed one for a short while and found its size surprisingly manageable. 3 across the back should be fine, surely if there's not isofix on every seat then they can be fixed with the seat belts which is just as safe if done properly.

Chickpearocker · 14/06/2018 22:04

Thanks guys I’m surprised to hear about the Volvo I also thought Volvo was a good brand but obviously not! I like having isofix for the baby seat as I attach the car seat to the pram so it’s handy just slotting it in and out especially in the rain, I think having the isofix is handy.

Perhaps I should go down the people carrier route.

How about a Subaru?

Excellent reliability and engines

Chickpearocker · 21/06/2018 12:36

Would a Subaru take 3 across the middle ?

My last car was a Q7, definitely takes 3 car seats across the middle.
Not as big to drive as it looked and it only had one fault in the 6 years I had it.

CarDad · 21/06/2018 23:47

Certain Subaru models would take 3 seats, best checking them out in person

Lookingforspace · 21/06/2018 23:57

I’ve had all 3. I preferred the Volvo but I only needed 2 seats and my older one sat in the middle on the intergrated booster seat. Not sure you’d fit 3 big car seats in any of them but 3 high backed boosters probably. The Q7 was nice to drive but nobody ever lets you out in traffic. The Disco was spacious in the middle row but having the back row up meant no boot. The Volvo at least retains a reasonable boot space when the 3rd row is up. Both the Volvo and the Q7 were very reliable but my discovery was not. But the discovery had the best sat nav by far.

Chickpearocker · 22/06/2018 22:50

Thank you guys for the different perpectives, I’m thinking of going for a people carrier, I think you can’t beat them for practicality

brand new vauxhall combo life mpv/citroen berlingo mpv/peugeot rifter mpv out in September.
All models will be identical except for the badge and trim levels, all will use the same engines - petrol or diesel.

They will all be either in 2 body lengths - M or XL, the XL makes the already enormous boot even bigger.

It also comes as a 5 seater or 7 seater.

Chickpearocker · 23/06/2018 21:41

Oh thank you I didn’t realise new models were coming out, I discounted the Berlingo because of poor safety and Vauxhall has turned me off since the cars went on fire but I will look into Peugeot!
