Baby Gear Rental

Does anyone know if you can rent baby gear like car seats, cots and strollers? I'm coming back for a 2 week holiday and don't want to lug loads as I'll be travelling alone with my 5mth old.

My base will be in Brighton, East Sussex.

Thanks

mmm I've looked into this one myself and never found anything in the UK along these lines. I am just back (in Malaysia) after 3 weeks in the UK with my two. They are a bit older than yours but over the years I have ended up:
1: Buying a travel cot on the web and having it sent direct to my parents It stays at my parents house.
2: Taking car seats with me (you could pack yours in your check-in luggage and then carry your baby in a Baby Bjorn or something similar on the plane)
3: Buying a buggy in England.
ALternatively you could ask the people you are staying with (parents???) if they could ask around in the area. You might find a friendly neighbour with excess baby equipment. (This time I was in England a friend of my sister's lent me a car seat) You could also buy a buggy on the web (ebay or mumsnet?) and have it sent straight to where you are staying.
Best, Lorien

Do the NCT do anything like this? Maybe look on their website for the branch local to where you'll be staying.

There are a couple of companies in South East of England that rent everything you mention. This one came up a lot on searches when we were looking - www.tots2go.com
