Any opinions on the Britax Vigour 3 wheeler?

Having narrowed our search to the Loola or the Buzz, DH has now fallen in love with the Britax 3 wheeler.

All air tyres you see

Does anyone have one?

Honey show him the bugaboo and let him fall in love with that, then it won't matter that it costs a fortune, and it will seem a bargain 2nd hand.

No experience of the vigour have you googled for reviews?

chocolatemousse · 20/05/2007 15:38

Yes reviews seem good. It's also compatible with the Britax Cosy Tot Premium which did well in Which's most recent report.

We tried folding the Bugaboo but thought it was tricky...

yes folding the bugaboo takes practicce but I nearly always walk and have a buggy in the car for the odd occasion I use it.

misdee · 20/05/2007 16:10

yes get a bugaboo. buy mine. i have a cameleon for sale, grey bases, red fleeces, blue footmuff £450 ONO plus insured postage of £28

Ceolas · 20/05/2007 16:17

misdee are you selling your bugaboo?

Why did I buy the stylo...

CarGirl · 20/05/2007 16:36

misdee why don't you part x for my frog - the brake is much further away where little ones can't reach - lol!

dazedandconfusedmum · 20/05/2007 16:58

Bugaboo or Buzz!!! I have both and love them.

Got a friend selling the new Buzz and Misdee is selling the Bugaboo Cameleon. get one of them!!!

misdee · 20/05/2007 18:19

cargirl because i have something else already.

go on, buy my bug, its in fab condition!!

marmitemad · 20/05/2007 18:40

I love my Britax Vigour 4 wheeler, much easier to unfold/fold than the Bugaboo and brakes are better too (no chopping off your fingers), comfortable to push, car seat slots on very easily, carry cot is a bit trickier but once you've done it a few times the positioning is easy, haven't used the main seating unit yet. I spent hours researching and everyone laughed at me but all are in agreement that the Britax Vigour is brilliant.
BTW I got the 4 wheeler as I wanted something a bit sturdier to lean on as I have mobility problems and the front wheels are smaller than the 3 wheeler.
Not many places stock the 4 wheels version though for testing, where are you based?

dazedandconfusedmum · 20/05/2007 19:35

The Buzz is easier to fold than the Bug coz you can leave the seat unit on and keep it all in one piece. The Bug is georgous though and I love that too. i have seen Misdee's Bug and it is fantastic!!!

nearlythere · 21/05/2007 10:44

oooh, i have them in stock and the vigour range is fab!!!! the vigour 4 is light, well made and generally gorgeous, the vigour 3 hasn't been as popular but the colours are fab! would reccomend them over the buzz and loola, and the car seat is lighter and more comfy imo!

Ceolas · 21/05/2007 22:02

nearlythere you put me off this one a while back

nearlythere · 22/05/2007 09:52

i have since had a play! and the 2007 ones are a better design than the 2006! it depends what your options are! tell me the shortlist and i will list them in order of which me and my customers prefer!!!

Ceolas · 22/05/2007 14:17

Hmm, shortlist?!

I bought a second hand Bebecar Stylo from ebay but having major regrets... Now I want a Vigour instead.

I need something small for the car too and can't decide whether to just get a Maclaren or to go for a M&P pramette (know how you feel about M&P!) or a Loola that I can put the car seat on occasionally. Both will fit in my miniscule boot.

Misdee was telling me there's a support group for pramaholics...

nearlythere · 22/05/2007 14:27

get the maclaren- even the pramette will become too big! the bebecar stylo is a fabbo pram- but quite large if i remember correctly. I would say the vig 4 over the vig 3 but that i suppose is personal preference.

Ceolas · 22/05/2007 14:30

Yes it feels very large. Quite bouncy - almost too bouncy. I took my niece out in it yesterday (she's a small almost 2 year old) and it felt like she'd bounce right out a few times!

I have for years wanted a red pram. Weird probably! The Vigour 3 in red really appealed.

nearlythere · 22/05/2007 14:38

a-ha! Buy a RED MACLAREN!!! problem solved, keep the stylo, make your dh happy and then swap it for a vigour in a few months- is it for a new baby? if so the vigour isn't suitable from birth unless you get the carrycot!

marmitemad · 22/05/2007 14:40

I have the Vigour 4 in red!!

Ceolas · 22/05/2007 20:53

And are you delighted with it marmite?

marmitemad · 23/05/2007 09:11

very delighted although have only used the car seat and carry cot bit so far (DD is 3 months), looking forward to getting the proper seat unit out soon.
