Hi, I'm looking for a good car seat for the above age range - main concerns are price and ease of transfer from one car to another. All advice welcome - thanks

There aren't many tbh. Which ? have slated safety wise those, often cheaper, ones which use an adult belt from baby age. We have a Britax Evolva 123 (about £130)which has a harness for up to 18kg then becomes a highback booster using the adult belt. Heavy and not easy to fit as it requires a fairly long seatbelt and weaves through the back, let alone transfer easily.

Agree with Liz.... the only group 1/2/3 car seat that which have ever regarded as even slightly safe is britax evolva 1/2/3

howver in the even of a crash a child under 18kg would be even safer if traveling in (some) group 1 car seats.

some are crap too.... even worse than the evolva...
but a maxi cosi priori or tobi, a britax renaossance or an isofix car seat offer even ,ore protection to the baby in the event of a crash.

If you relaly want a 1/2/3 car seat though the onlY car seat i would even think about would be the evolva
