Next stage car seat???

Hi
My son is just 3 years old and is in a ?second stage car seat. Its the one where you can put them in forward facing from 20lbs. I am getting a new car in a couple of weeks and before I transfer the seat (absolute bugger to get in and out!) I wondered if he is suitable for the next seat up? The ones where you use the actual seat belt to fasten them in but they are in a moulded seat if you know what I mean? Not explaining myself very well! He is 3 and quite tall but not very heavy at around 28lbs.
Does anyone know if there is a minimum age or weight for these seats?
Cheers
JTP

He needs to be a minimum of 15kg , preferably 18kg , which is around 33lbs , so a little way off for a highback booster yet.

Thanks LIZS
I knew someone on here would know. They look so much easier for getting kids in and out of,doing my back in lifting him into the bucket seat! Maybe he will be 33lbs by the time he is 5!!!

Have you tried letting him climb in himself. My dd is nearly three and I haven't lifted her in and out for a good 6 months now.

Takes far too long to wait for him to climb in himself! I have tried this but I only have a 2 door Micra and he just can't manoeuvre himself without difficulty. My new car will have 4 doors and is bigger so maybe he will be able to climb in himself with just a helping hand!
I am forever banging his head on the ceiling of the car when putting him in his sear poor thing!
