Replacement key for a BMW?

Is an official BMW dealership the only way to get a replacement key? They are quoting £110 which seems like a small fortune.

Anyone know if there is any other way of doing this?

ROFL!

We have a joke in our house that whatever car we have there is a problem with the second key (which always seems to be my key ), it either doesn't work or it is missing.

Nobody else had to do this then?

Ah yes..... we have the 'second key problem' too. My DH's company car (Citroen) had to have a new key, which cost something in the region of £120. Dealership was the only place to get it too.

Flippin' 'eck so they are not just fleecing us because it is a BMW then? It seems ridiculous, however the guy at the garage did say that it would be an awful lot cheaper than new locks all round in the even that we lose the only key we have.
