I'm looking at changing my car from a 7 seater to maybe one of these, big jump but mines too expensive and I don't need the space anymore.

Any pros/cons
Can you fit a pushchair/stroller in?
How many seats in the back?

Thanks

Any specific model you’re looking at? Petrol/diesel?

I had a sport version. Could only really get 2 adults in the back for another length of time as the sports suspension came up high in the middle. The boot just fitted a city jogger folded flat.

Oh and depending on the model it may have run flat tyres which are £££.

Which idiot told you that? That’s the transmission tunnel.

Well Reddington, I am the idiot. Must be nice to be so superior though.

Which engine in the 1 series?

some of the engines have known problems and should be avoided.

BMW do not offer much good will out of warranty, you need to be clear which 1 series engine you are after.

I have an older sports model with run flats . And yes expensive! They're lovely but problem inside is they're small so 6'2" DH gets tired legs - only two fit in the back too.
Bout space limited too but I fitted my Quinny Park in ... just!

CarDad · 28/05/2018 21:43

I agree
the 1 series is more cramped than the current Ford Focus which takes some doing!

Yo don’t have to keep the run flats, many owners ditch them for a set of decent non-run flats

I'm giving up my 1 series as it's just tiny (2 car seats), going for a 2 series gran tourer.
