OK. It's the 1970s, and your mum is applying sun cream (probably tanning lotion, given that it's the seventies). It has a lovely, slightly floral and sweet but also a bit sensual fragrance (but not, NOT civet musk). Flash forward to the 2000s, and you still occasionally smell the smell in the summer when tanned-looking ladies pass by. You do not fancy grabbing one of these ladies and asking her what she smells of. So, you turn to the MN jury, and you say: which sun product is this?

Ambre Solaire? It's what my Mum used to plaster me with in the 70s.

Ambre solaire would be my guess as well. Is it slightly coconutty?

i have a bottle which is no famous make that smells the same as ones i was plasterd in as a kid..no help though sorry!

I was hoping someone would say Clarins so thst I'd have an excuse to buy their new sun perfume.

I'm going to look a right charlie sniffing all the sun creams in Boots.
