umm, if you accidentally drop it when removing, don't flush thinking 'I'm not putting my hand in there, that'll never get flushed, it'll be ok' - it will flush, you will lose it, don't do it

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 14/05/2007 20:18

You don't need the stem
Bear down when trying to grab it to remove
Practice before period starts!

FrannyandZooey · 14/05/2007 20:22

LOL leslie I know who you are now

yes practice beforehand (run it under tap first so it isn't too dry)

trim stem / cut off

insert it LOW (see pic on instructions)

check it has unfurled inside you (sweep your finger round the edge)

release seal before trying to remove it completely

MrsDiorKeanuReeves · 14/05/2007 20:23

I have mine high F&Z - can feel it otherwise! Don't know what that says about my pelvic floor...

FrannyandZooey · 14/05/2007 20:28

well lots of people say they do as well Dior, so perhaps it's me that's the odd one out

Mooncup do recommend keeping it low to avoid leaks, so I thought it might be best to aim lower than you might otherwise think to?

lesliephillips · 14/05/2007 20:30

again

Skyler · 14/05/2007 20:37

I haven't trimmed my stem though most do. Practice is key.
I love it.

FrannyandZooey · 14/05/2007 20:39

Leslie, you are not the only Mooncupping fool, someone burnt theirs by Mumsnetting while sterilising it in a pan of water

onlyjoking9329 · 14/05/2007 20:43

well i have been using mine for the first time today, was a bit difficult the first time but have got it sorted now. i think the key to removal is to break the seal before trying to remove it.

AitchTwoOh · 14/05/2007 20:44

burnt their what, franny?

hatwoman · 14/05/2007 20:45

hmm. if I put mine in low I can feel it, and it feels like it's going to fall out. maybe that's just me

FrannyandZooey · 14/05/2007 20:48

Skyler · 14/05/2007 21:32

Don't trim the stem until you have tried it though.

Skyler · 14/05/2007 21:32

And make sure you remove it before trimming

chilledmama · 14/05/2007 21:35

Ouch-LOL
