I'm after an additional car for occasional/good weather use.

Not vintage. New models.

What have you got and do you like it?

My daughter has sent me this link

www.fiat.co.uk/fiat-124-spider

Never owned a Fiat. It looks so cute though!
Has anyone got one?

The 124 is a Mazda MX-5 underneath - Fiat did some kind of platform share deal. I haven't driven one (although I have driven several MX-5s) but the reviews seem to be polite rather than ecstatic. I believe the Mazda is a better drive. I would certainly recommend having a look at the Mazda; it's brilliant fun.

I love two-seater sports cars but the world is SUV-crazy at the moment, isn't it? There aren't really any others from new. Wracking my brains now.

I have a BMW Z4 which is on the chopping block since we have twins on the way. I will be so sad to see it go - we absolutely loved it. Lots of fun, good looks which have really stood the test of time and is great to drive.

It's going to genuinely be a sad day when we sell it. I'd actually prefer to give it away to someone in our family so I'd at least get to drive it every now and again that way.

Ooh I had forgot about Mazda!

I love the BMW Z4, I've googled and it's coming out in a fabulous orange colour!

Both great choices, thank you.

By coincidence I came on here to start a thread asking about sports cars, specifically the Fiat 124.

My current car is definitely not a sports car Grin

I've looked at Audi TTs they are definitely sturdy but they aren't very exciting.

I prefer the styling of the 124 Spider to the MX5, even though I know the MX5 should probably be the head over heart choice.

And then there's the 911. I really think it would be wasted on me but I'm thinking about it.

Mybabystolemysanity · 29/04/2018 22:05

Had an MX5 briefly. Was great fun. Three a rod in the engine so it was a write off in the end. I think we were unlucky.

New baby and house move forces the sale of my beloved Saab convertible which replaced the Mazda. Orange is definitely the colour!

PoodleDoodleCaboodle · 30/04/2018 10:11

The Honda S2000 is the car of choice for my DH and he doesn't want to give it up even when the baby arrives so we're now looking for a family car!

I always promised myself an Audi TT and realised my dream when we moved back here from abroad,I could only justify it because I had only grown up children and didn't have to worry about ferrying them about to and from schools.
I bought it 2nd hand and it is in really good order I love it very few and far ocassions do I have the hood down but what do you expect in this country.
