Boys school trousers, which are the best ?

I want to start buying a few bits of uniform for Ds who starts school in Sept.

Have never had to buy boys uniform before so am quite scared LOL.

Anyhow, trousers, which are the best ?? Cheap is good but i'd rather pay a bit more and get ones that are hardwearing, don't want holes in the knees the first time he falls over.

I know Asda and Woolies do some for £3 but will they last ??

It depends what you want them made of. Most are a polyester/nylon mix. If you want cotton you will have to look very hard!! I finally got some from Asda (and have been very pleased with them) but had to order them specially as most stores don't stock them as standard.

My ds were from Marks and Spencer. They are the non iron ones they have lasted him all year without any holes, unlike shoes and coat when he dives around playing football, were only about 7 pounds and tbh i will get his next lot from there too.

DS1 has had School trousers from both Next and M&S. I like the flat fronted ones from Next as he is such a skinny malink but the M&S ones we bought this year have worn better. The Next ones lasted the year but I could not have passed them on to DS2 as they were just about worn through at the knees but the M&S ones still look good.

Last year M&S did a 3 for 2 deal on their School wear, lets hope they repeat it this year.

Thanks all, will try Next and M&S than I think. They only need to last a year as no other boys to pass them on to.

(if you discover you do need cotton these are the people. Otherwise I say M&S Teflon-y ones.)

The only thing i would say about next is the fastening. DS has a pair from their and has only just learnt how to do the fastening on them.

M&S last year, Adams this year. Both good, Adams bit more expensive.

Next trousers are fab, but I think they fit better on skinny boys! Ds is slightly heavier build, and I am struggeling to find him some that fit.
Have just bought some from Sainsburys, which fit fantastic but the fabric is so thin and flimsy you can see daylight through them if you hold them up to the light.
