Garden expert needed

Can anyone recomend a trailling / crawling plant that will grow pretty fast we have some tresil down one side of the garden and i would love to cover it to make it more private.

Have a look at www.crocus.co.uk, and go the the climbing plants section, I'm pretty sure you can search by rate of growth.

jumanjii (clematis)

russian vine goes wild

wild rose is good after a few years

honeysuckle (not evergreen)

and that BIG ivy stuff

what way does your trellis face? good bet is a good repeating climbing rose, planted together with one or if you have room, two different clematis, one early flowering, one late. then you'll have flowers there from about april through to sept/oct.

there are some very beautiful roses that are happy on north facing walls - have a look at zepherine drouhin (deep pink, very pretty) or Madame Alfred Carriere. the Crocus website will give you other ideas. Clematis generally like a bit of sun but some of the clematis montana varieties will be fine north facing. They can be a bit rampant though, so if you don't have a big space don't plant them.
