Is £13500 for a 65 plate, sport model, with 24k miles a good price? Thank you.

That's about average.
Ime for that age and milage they go for about 11.5 -14.5 k

FancyThatFenceEdge · 14/04/2018 19:14

What model specifically?

That will dictate whether the price is right...

(Shit care BTW Wink )

FancyThatFenceEdge · 14/04/2018 19:14

Car!

user2929 · 14/04/2018 20:35

Why is it shit?

It's sport edition

That tells us nothing, might as well tell us it’s red. What model specifically is it?

FancyThatFenceEdge · 14/04/2018 21:04

"Why is it shit?"

Because its a BMW.

Ikeameatballs · 14/04/2018 21:07

I love mine but it does go sideways in the slightest bit of snow. No other problems at all though.

reddington · 14/04/2018 21:10

Because its a BMW.

BMW make some great cars. A cooking 1 series isn’t one of them. For people who just want a badge, like the OP who’s buying a car but seemingly has no idea what model they’re actually buying.

BonnieF · 14/04/2018 21:17

Which engine / model / trim?

I’ve got a 1 series. It’s a bit cramped, has a hard ride, only 3 doors and uses lots of fuel. It’s also completely useless in the snow

None of that matters at all, because it’s a M135i which goes very, very fast indeed.

champagneplanet · 14/04/2018 21:18

I loved mine, had to get rid when DD2 was born.

Need more info, engine size? What model? Petrol/Diesel? Manual/Auto? Confused

reddington · 14/04/2018 21:25

Quick, yes. A little exaggeration there I feel.

hugoagogo · 14/04/2018 21:28

Yeah they are shit, especially in snow or ice and the driving position is way too low.
The stupid idrive/sat nav thing will drive you round the twist.

BonnieF · 14/04/2018 21:56

OK, it’s not McLaren quick (not that I have driven one), but it feels plenty fast enough for British roads. Mine has the 8 speed auto, and in Sport mode it feels properly quick in any gear, at any speed. It’s the fact that you don’t have to rev it to the redline to get it to go. The performance is so accessible. It feels much faster than my partner’s old Boxster S 3.2

reddington · 14/04/2018 22:10

It’s a hot hatch, a mediocre one at that. They could’ve made the M135i and M140i truly brilliant by including things like an LSD BUT if they made it too good it would steal sales from the real M cars so they had to compromise it. It’s a good car in isolation but unfortunately other hot hatches do a better job.

DoctorTwo · 14/04/2018 22:16

They're great to drive unless it's either icy or snowing. I drove the 118i and it's the equal easiest way to get points alongside the Cooper S.

BonnieF · 14/04/2018 22:29

I’m not planning on taking mine to any track days, so I don’t miss a LSD.

I think it’s a superb affordable performance car, with an amazing engine.

Not sure if serious?

For a hot hatch I’ll take a Civic Type R thanks or maybe a Focus RS at a push. Much rather have a real M car than almost anything else though to be honest.

ConfusedDotty · 15/04/2018 07:51

I’ve got the M140, it’s ok. It drinks petrol and hates snow and ice. I also have an M4 which gets the most use. The one series is good for the hatchback bit. I used to have a diesel 120 and that was excellent on fuel, wish I had never got rid of the diesel one actually. I want to change the M140 to a Toyota GT86, they look lovely.

user2929 · 16/04/2018 06:44

Reddington seeing your posts on some other threads you don't seem to like any car! Or is it specifically bmw and Mercedes?

OP posts:
India1819 · 16/04/2018 06:50

I’ve got a 120d sport 64plate. The ride isn’t that exciting (compared to the Cooper s I had previously) but fuel economy is excellent and it’s the size I wanted but with a fairly generous boot. Look at Parker’s for an idea of prices against the model you’re looking at.

reddington · 16/04/2018 11:14

Generally I’m a BMW fan, ambivalent about Mercedes and strongly dislike VAG products. None of the German stuff is especially reliable or well built which is a shame. If you want dependable transport then the Far East is the place to look. Big Lexus fan, beautifully built if not the most exciting things to drive.
