Can you use Gamecube Games on a Nintendo Wii ????

My boys have recently bought a Nintendo Wii, and I bought a game on Ebay that was advertised as for Gamecube/Wii.
I have just received it and it says nothing on the box about Wii (presumably as Gamecube came out before Wii). But what I am concerned about is that it is a much smaller disk than a Wii disk.
I'm a bit scared to try it in case it goes into the Wii but then I can't get it out !!!!

You need a gamecube controller though.

Its great, it sort of sucks the teeny disk in The whole reason I agreed to a wii was because I had longed for pikmin since the gamecube started

Where do the gamecube controllers go - in the wii controller sockets ???

They go in the top/side somewhere, and yup, 2 controllers.
