hi all

I need tog et a cooler box, asap. Checked my local high street today but no luck ata ll aprt from a very cheap and cheerful one in Woolworths that looked like it would snap as soon sa I used it.
Any ideas of where I can get one from please?
Just tried Argos on line but a search found nothing.

We got one from Woolies and it's lasted well. It was the one you plug into the fag lighter in the car. Makes things nice and cold and also helpful when taking DS away anywhere.

thanks gscrym, I didn't see that one just one that was on special offer at 7.99 but really didn't look very stable.
Do you remember a rough idea of the price of your one?

can I revive this request please as I went to my local Woolworths today and they have sold as, as have Argos. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Have you tried DIY stores, mckenzie? Am assuming you just want the kind with a lid that you put coolpacks into - the electric plug-ins tend to be £50+. Also try the big supermarkets. And places like Wilkinsons. It is the wrong end of the year to be looking (stupid but true) so be prepared for an expedition!

Oh, look in camping shops too.

If you have a Cargo near you they have good ones there for about a tenner. The squashy ones (which are easier to store!)

I got mine from Costco's Cash and carry. It's pretty good and has a smaller one inside for taking to the beach.

thanks guys.
Hadn't thought about camping shops - I'll trying Millets tomorrow. Storage isn't really a problem, I did want a hard one so that a little bottom can sit on it if necessary.

that sounds perfect Flip. Was it fairly recently that you got it?

Also - dh has just bought a 15 litre mini fridge from Maplins Electronics for £30. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and also has a mains lead.

We tried it at home ready for our camping and it only took an hour to get cool.

Here is the link

Type fridge in the search box and it's the second one down. It also has a carry handle so it's portable. My dh carried it all the way across Manchester and got on the train with it. This website also deliver.

I got it two weeks ago and then leant it to my friend who's away camping this week. We haven't even used it yet. Cooler box that is. Costco have a website, see if there is one near you. I can't however locate it at the moment. 2 screaming kids to deal with.

thanks flip. DH in charge of DS just now so I'll get busy surfing.

I've just bought two great wafer thin cool packs (to go into cooler bag/box) - 63p each in the sale at Tesco. Never seen the really thin ones before - great cos they don't take up as much room in your freezer or cool box !
Just thought I'd pass that on !
