Green Shoes - not cheap but handmade to order in Devon, made to measure, and when outgrown they can be stretched and so are effectively two pairs of shoes.

have you tried startrite? i know they do smaller width fittings, unsure about wider ones. dd2 is a G and that is bad enough getting her shoes.

Elefanten sandles are good but open toed. My dd is very much the same in foot size & shape, these have 3 straps that go across and a proper heel at the back.

I would try startrite - my dd had some H cruising shoes from them, and pretty sure they do normal walking shoes too.

topsy my ds has a double H and a high instep so I will watch this thread with instep. I'm a wide footed gal married to a extra wide footed feller so our kids never stood a chance.

Don't stone me, but have you considered crocs? They're pretty wide and very comfortable. Or so I hear.

I'm seriously thinking of getting some of those green shoes for myself - I have to wear those special support insoles, have a high instep and broad, short feet. Winter is okay I wear boots and the insole things fit in, in the summer I wear birkenstocks or trainers but it's those in between times and certain outfits that are very tricky..........I must start saving up......

Spidermama · 08/05/2007 23:11

Yes I've been looking at those. Good link TT.

My ds has the same issue and the best ones I've had 2 years in a row now are from Verbaudet - 2 straps fully adjustable with velcro - not closed toe though.

TooTicky · 08/05/2007 23:12

My ds2 (v. narrow footed) and my dd1 (v. wide footed) have both had Green Shoes - they really are excellent and the people are so friendly.
Wish I could afford some for me...
