Camcorder advice please?

Want to buy one to record our epic adventure to the States this summer. Something easy to use, small to hold and under £250! Thank you.

We have SONY everything cos of memory sticks and connections etc

but they rate the cannon one for under £250

ie 5 G is deffo brill 1 G is poor/dreadful

I'm a complete novice when it comes to these things, but after a bit of reading up on the internet I bought this ie sony dcrdvd109e (the 106 is nearly the same and cheaper at £241)
It fits your criteria, which matches mine!

I'm sure it has all sorts of gadgets on it that are great, but I just want to switch it on and click 'record' - the rest I will learn later. So far I've been doing just that, and v. pleased with it. Can also take stills, and I found movies easy to transfer onto pc with the software you get - or you can watch as dvd or through tv (havent tried that yet)
Its v. light and you can strap it onto one hand

I would deffo go SONY esp if from some suppliers you can gert it cheaper than review says

try to bargin a free extra battery or free dvds as well

ie don't just pay for the camera and the extras try to bargin with the shop for freebies

Get them to pricematch as well

Camcorders and most electrical stuff is getting cheaper all the time as new stuff comes out

oh p.s. sony doing an offer at the mo where if you buy certain models you get free case and battery. mine just arrived - only took 3 weeks after I applied for it
