Poncho for DD (2 yrs)

Mum2Ela · 04/08/2004 09:55

hi all

Has anyone seen a poncho I can get for DD for her birthday next month?

I am sure Gap did lush kids ones last year but I haven't seen any this year.

Would prefer one without pictures on iykwim, like a stripey one or something instead.

Thanks.

Have just ordered one from Jo Jo mama bebe

Also Next have one

Hulababy · 04/08/2004 09:58

Wehave had a couple from Gap. They did have one at the start of this season - in brightish coloured stripes. Have you asked them in store if they have plans for any more - may have them when Autumn season's clothes come in.

Hulababy · 04/08/2004 09:59

Oh forgot to add - Monsoon/Accessorize had some children's ponchos in the other day.

Moomin · 04/08/2004 10:00

There's one in the new next directory, so would imagine it'll be in the stores as well. Here it is

soapbox · 04/08/2004 10:18

House of Fraser have a couple of nice ones in at the moment.

marialuisa · 04/08/2004 10:22

Monsoon have gorgeous ones.

DD has one of the Gap ones, it's beautiful. Only problem is that she HATES it. I found it in the charity bag yesterday! Persuaded her into it this a.m. by telling her cowgirls wear them....

woodpops · 04/08/2004 10:31

Snap angelpoppet. I ordered the one from JoJo Maman last week, even remembered to use the mumsnet discount code and got 10% off.

bicbic · 04/08/2004 11:36

I wanted the floral one fromjjmb (it was in the sale from last year) but theyve not got it in for this winter

woodpops · 04/08/2004 11:49

DD will look so cute in hers (when it arrives) I brought her a pair of Uggs to go with it. A real little trendy bod!!!!!

angelpoppet · 04/08/2004 11:54

woodpops,

have you got your yet - I ordered mine last week - maybe week before.

Still not arrived - haven't ordered from that website before so don't know how quick/slow they are

Mum2Ela · 04/08/2004 12:02

The ones on the MOnsoon website are lovely but they haven't got them in DD's size. Will have a look in the shop.

There is a lush one on the Gap american website. Have e-mailed my brother to ask whether he fancies buying it for his niece for her bday!!

I like the one in Next but am wondering whether every other child will have it on . .?

No, I'm still waiting. But I also ordered some other bits that have arrived. The delivery note said that the poncho should be delivered by the 6th. Is it the pink knitted one with the pixie hood that you ordered????

woodpops · 04/08/2004 12:04

Mum3ela, that's what put me off of getting the Next one. You just know everywhere you go every other child will have it on. That's the only trouble with Next stuff!!!

marialuisa · 04/08/2004 13:18

Mum2Ela-the next one is acrylic which would put me off even more. If there's one on the Gap website it should turn up over here soon.

woodpops · 04/08/2004 13:45

I have to agree with marialuisa. I've just looked on the Gap site and they have alot of clothes on that we brought our dd at the weekend. We had a bit of a raid on Gap. Might be worth asking in your branch if they've got any ponchos. They may be out the back waiting to go on the shelves!!!!

jimmychoos · 04/08/2004 13:56

gap ponchos are all sold out already down here and where my Mum lives and her nearest big town too! Can't get my hands on one for love nor money.

Hulababy · 04/08/2004 14:57

That is one of the reasons why I like the Gap ones. they normally have such limited stock of them - our stores only have 1 or 2 in each size. So you don't see loads of children in the same poncho walking round But they are so cute!

Also although Dd is only 2 we got her the age 3 - not much bigger on her and will last longer.

kid · 04/08/2004 15:42

I could crochet one for your DD in wool if you wanted me to? I can't do any fancy designs but can do a plain or stripey one.

Mum2Ela · 05/08/2004 09:32

Thanks very mush for the offer Kid but I spoke to my brother last night in the US and he has ordered me a lovely stripey one from the Gap website. Perhaps you should make some and sell them!!

Hulababy do you think I should get DD age 3 from Gap? I asked my bro to get her age 2, but are the sizes quite small? She is 2 in Sept and wearing age 1.5 - 2 yrs clothes from, say, Next.

Age 2 should be fine TBH. Just when I went to Gap they had no size 2, hence getting the age 3. DD was just 2 at the time. It is just a bit longer than average on her but still looks fine. DD is just slightly above average height but not tall.

Mum2Ela · 05/08/2004 10:08

Thanks chick. x
