What do you clean laminate floor with?

DDDH has just finished laying our laminate floor. It is antique oak and has grooves that look like wooden floorboards.

What do you use to clean / polish it with (ie the liquid and the utensil??)

I know I can't mop it like a tiled floor.

I have used floor wipes and one of those Flash type cleaning systems. And for stubborn marrks - hands and knees job. Latest one I have is the Vileda one that has an attached container for the liquid, and you use a dry cloth at bottom. You can squirt the liquid out using the trigger.

You can buy liquid and cleaning systems very specifically for laminate flooring but it is not cheap.

thanks Hula. Do most supermakets or DIY places sell them then? (complete laminate virgin here

Got our mop thing and first liquid/pads from John Lewis, and the liquid from Asda.

Got my wipes/mop from Betterware - quite cheap as well.

I have always used normal floor cleaner and a mop.

I am the proud owner of a Vax Bubble cleaner - I am in love!-and my floors have never been sooo clean!

MeanBean · 03/08/2004 18:37

I just use a normal damp mop with some kind of spray designed for both wooden floors and laminate - can't remember what it's called, but it's just normal stuff from supermarket. It works fine (and I can use it on both types of floor!)

I use a vileda pop on mop head thing, specially for laminate and soem pedge for wood floor wash, I then buff it with a different mop head ,if we are expecting important people, like MIL who would notice this...

I've got a laminate floor and have just bought one of those Flash mop system thingys. It's brilliant - haven't stopped 'playing' with it all day! Very easy to use, you just press a button on the handle and it squirts cleaner on the floor as you wash it. I thoroughly recommend it
